we rock!
I love music. But I hate when three applications fight over which gets to play it when I click on the links at http://del.icio.us/popular/system:filetype:mp3 . So I decided to do something about it: you will now notice a
to the left of every mp3 link. Go ahead, click on it and enjoy the peaceful beauty when the music just plays.

Brilliant! It works great. Thanks :)
Jason | Oct 29 2005 at 1:10 am
That’s pretty amazing. Anyway to build that functionality into the RSS feed?
joshua | Oct 29 2005 at 1:28 am
Jason, I think that that most RSS readers will neuter the javascript.
You could do the podcasting thing though.
fjarlq | Oct 29 2005 at 2:41 am
You do indeed rock! Thank you.
Julian | Oct 29 2005 at 4:31 am
That’s a great feature! How did you do that? Can you make it kinda open source, so I can use it on my website, too?

on podcasting/vidcasting this and more, read here:

I want to create a WordPress plugin based on this code. Can I do this? Please read also: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/48091
Thanks for help and advices! This is the best way to offer mp3-files to a webpage. Clean and simple.

Del.icio.us brings an end to
Del.icio.us brings an end to the silliness of playing linked/streamed MP3s on the web by including an ultra-slick play icon to MP3 audio links. Very, very cool. To this day I couldnt tell you why Quicktime hijacks MP3 links …
blogum | Oct 29 2005 at 7:16 pm
Like say above it would be nice an RSS of the mp3 (with enclosures) it can be done with feedburner(smartcast), but it would be nice if Delicious has this kind of feed, to make personal podcast or playlists :)
mullingitover | Oct 29 2005 at 11:59 pm
Nice! I’ve been using a Firefox plugin that does this, but it’s great to have it integrated into the site. Keep on rocking the good design.
joshua | Oct 30 2005 at 9:11 am
millingitover: we do automatically do turn rss feeds with system:media:audio (and others) automatically into podcasts elsewhere, but not for /popular — i’ll add that to the todo list. see http://blog.del.icio.us/blog/2005/06/casting_the_net.html
joshua | Oct 30 2005 at 9:28 am
mullingitover: i guess we did this already.

is great with greasmonkey for image relining! Please add something like this to the images. Honestly, the less greasemonkey the better. It may grease the wheels, but it can gum up the works too, ie. The current version of firefox breaks greasemonkey if someone uses a javascript on the page. as a result, i have disabled your javascript with adblock, and can see images, but not your mp3 player. Also:
something like this: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/1858
would be great here!

This is excellent. The only issue I had was that I forgot it was playing on the page (instead of in winamp), and I navigated away and it stopped.
Maybe it can throw up a javascript alert if it’s currently playing?

Hi PPL I simply love ur program, thought I could give some feedbacks which would make your program more interesting and appealing.
1. Import my bookmarks, though I see you are working on it, I feel this is very important to attract users who already have a bunch of bookmarks and want to upload them to delicious
2. Instead of the browser buttons, how about creating a toolbar, which would have a drop down menu of all the bookmarks and have other interesting features put into the toolbar, I’m sure you could do a lot of interesting things with this toolbar.

What’s the license on your flash player? Greasemonkey/User javascripts like http://musicplayer.sourceforge.net/greasemonkey/inline.player.user.js could benefit from a better (and smaller) flash player that uses FlashVars so the source can be cached.
Maybe you should just offer a JS file that does this for any site, but uses a tiny del.icio.us-branded version of the player… The rest of the web needs this :)
