dear sir/madam
And I’m Britta Gustafson (the one on the left), which may sound vaguely familiar if you’ve ever complained to support@del.icio.us, because I’m probably the person who answered you. I actually used to respond to all the emails from my dorm room between classes, annoying my roommate with endless typing and mumbles of “import…tags…passwords…gmrhhhf.” But summer finally arrived, and then I got whisked away to a few hundred miles north, where I am immersed in del.icio.us-ness without the distractions of things like uh, education. Yes, I’m the official summer intern now, working on support and other community-related projects (you’ll see). So keep sending us comments, questions, suggestions, kvetchings, and ideas. They’re very helpful to us, and I enjoy reading the crazy things you guys come up with.

First: “complain” is such a negative-sounding word. I think of it more as “provided feedback that has benefitted the entire del.icio.us community”.
Second: Britta has provided some of the best (pseudo-corporate) customer support I’ve seen in a long time. Kudos to Joshua & team for bringing her on board.

Hello Britta! That’s a very swedish sounding name you have! Good luck with your internship!

Well, this confirms it, del.icio.us is definitely part of the Vegetarian Industrial Complex.

Delicious Vegetarian Industrial Compex-sauce
del.icio.us seems to have been implicated as being involved with the Vegetarian Industrial Complex….

can I someone tell me how can I upload bookmarks to my account, I used to use delicoso…but it is having problems…PLEASE can some recommend a program…preferablly free one…
Britta | Jul 29 2006 at 9:13 pm
taz: You can use the built-in import feature if you like. To do that, log into your del.icio.us account and visit “settings” at the top right of any page, then click on “import” on the right of that page. :)

is del.icio.us down? cause i’ve been bookmarking a couple of stuff in my del.icio.us account and its not working. (i have added 16 bookmarks and yet my page says 0 items) my blogger freshtags is not updating either. help! :(
Britta | Aug 1 2006 at 12:10 pm
It sometimes takes a little while for item counts and tag lists to get updated — nothing to worry about, but it can be confusing. We’re working on it.

I never got a response to the following e-mail that I sent to support@del.icio.us on March 30:
I love the site, although the name is awkward. Great concept. Came across the site for the first time in this week’s Newsweek.
I have a few questions and comments and would appreciate a response:
What fields are searched when using the search tool on the site (i.e., are titles, URLs, notes, tags being searched for terms?)
I wish that there was a way for favorites to appear in order based on frequency of use, or a “favorite” designation. Presently, the tags can be organized based on frequency, but the bookmarked sites only appear based on when they are posted on the site.
Again, great job.
Britta | Aug 1 2006 at 1:20 pm
Titles, notes, and tags are searched right now. We may add a way to order bookmarks by frequency of use in the future, but probably not for a while. Some people like to tag their “favorite” bookmarks with asterisks or stars (you can even use ★). Thanks!

Britta: Thank you for your prompt response.

Hi Britta! This is almost as fancy as your number machine.
MrNull | Aug 2 2006 at 8:59 pm
Hey Brenda! Just got your support response in my inbox and now I see your picture. Before long people will be stopping you in the street to ask you questions about tag bundles and daily blog posting.
MrNull | Aug 2 2006 at 9:00 pm
And I misspelled your name.. Sorry ;)
Mark | Aug 3 2006 at 7:03 pm
Are the bookmarks saved published publically ? I didnt find much help related to this so sorry for asking this question if its already there somewhere on site.

Britta | Aug 3 2006 at 7:36 pm
Mark: Yes, bookmarks are public by default. You can choose to make individual bookmarks private, though — enable this feature by going to your “settings” (at the top right of any page) and selecting “private saving” from the right side of that page.

I’ve been pleased with Britta’s support, too. I hope they’re paying you!

Is there any way in a future update, that the links within each tag can be listed alphabetically as a choice? I know the tags can be alpha-listed and the links are listed by date entered, but just a thought I guess. Great app otherwise, love the portability.
Britta | Aug 6 2006 at 1:03 pm
We may add an alphabetical sort for bookmarks in the future; it’s been asked for, but we’re not sure yet.

Hi Britta!
[A]nyway thanks a lot for your great supports.
Happy Journey.

Hi,
As I’m about to regiser, may I ask:
Is it possible to have some of my tags in Hebrew?
Thanks,
Corinna
Britta | Aug 6 2006 at 10:48 pm
Yes, you can create tags in any language (or mixture of languages) that you like.
barry | Aug 9 2006 at 12:49 am
Hi Britta! Del.icio.us continues to be the best site in the history of the internet. You rock.
GreenEyes | Aug 11 2006 at 11:53 am
Hey Britta, I had one concern that I hope you could answer. It seems like my bookmark count has gone a lot higher than it should either yesterday or the day before. Instead of around 400 bookmarks, my bookmarks are listed at around 1800, but when I page back I still can only access 5 out of 19 pages. Do you know why this is?
Britta | Aug 11 2006 at 12:48 pm
Yes, these inflated tag counts are a temporary bug. Try saving or editing a bookmark, and your bookmark count should go back to normal.

Britta,
Glad you finally made it on campus… too bad it is right before I left. I hope you have a great experience there. I got to meet a couple guys on your team, seems like a great group. Ask them how the javascript tagging bug I showed them during the intern product fair is coming along ;-)

To go away from del.icio.us? I’m sorry, I’m not quite sure what you mean. Can you explain?
dee costa | Aug 14 2006 at 8:45 pm
i love delicious. i use it every day almost. it is like my personal secretary. it rocks and whoever invented it a lot of people are mighty grateful im sure. have told a lot of my friends about it too.
Rosemary | Aug 14 2006 at 10:36 pm
Thanks for the help earlier today. I hope you’re having a blast. Now if only I could figure out how to get people onto my favorites, I may be getting somewhere. lol. Oh brother. So much to learn. CSS, RSS, HTML, etc. I love it, though. ;)
Jason | Aug 15 2006 at 2:35 am
When are we going to be able to put spaces into the names of tag bundles? Renaming a bundle to something like “Design Elements” turns it into “DesignElements” which is far less readable.
chewwy | Aug 16 2006 at 11:48 pm
I am hooked…I tell my friends at work about delicious…they ask is that a porn site:) speaking of porn…I think one of the funniest things about delicious is I’ll be whipping along reading all this what I call big brain stuff…and then from out of nowhere…PORN…I think it tickles…tee hee.

Britta, great name by the way, I am new here and can’t navagate like the others. I will figure it all out in time but for now it is great being here with you. Every knows that Britta is betta. I will be blogging soon but first need to see some of the others to know what to blog. I don’t want to blog out of order. Don’t know how I got here but I am and so far so good. Coolness is always a plus with me and always welcome. I am a firesign slumni and although most never heard of those guys I am sure the ones that did might be a tad bit intrested in what I need to say. Bla bla bla I am finished now. When I start to babble I know to walk away. Bye for now.
