now serving: 1,000,000

Not even a week after turning three, del.icio.us has just passed the mark of 1 million registered users! That’s more than triple the number of users we had just nine months ago. We can hardly believe it ourselves (although the smell of smoke coming from the server rack seems to eerily confirm it). Thanks to each and every one of you for making all this possible. Now we have one more thing to celebrate at the party next week

It was a brilliant and innovative concept from the very beginning, there was no doubt that it would be extremely successful!

    Congratulation!

We integrated the ability the bookmark with del.icio.us in our net news paper about the environment and health.

Acctually seems to be some swedes that use del.icio.us. We have great use of del.icio.us searching for webpages. We also very much like Flickr also.

We also integrated Netvouz since a swede made it and it rather good. And Jots since it seems to grow so fast. Also Digg since think its extremly cool.

As an example look for example at the following news peace:

    http://www.nyfikenvital.org/?q=node/1322

I wonder if anyone have any ide on other fun integration that could be possible with social bookmarks-service?

    Best Regards

    Hans Husman

    Congratz,

  • Rio  |  Sep 29 2006 at 12:04 pm

Congrats are in order, but I wonder what effect spammers might have on that number? What are you doing to combat spam?

    thanks,

Hum, maybe that is why delicious is getting so darn slow. I hope you can use the yahoo clout to speed up the search dramatically, it’s kinda sucky.

  • Nolawi  |  Sep 29 2006 at 4:19 pm

    This is great!

  • Mozambique  |  Oct 1 2006 at 4:47 pm

    Well done. Is great

  • dbot  |  Oct 2 2006 at 9:53 pm

    excellent.

can I have clickable bundles (auto x+x+x), or something along the line now :) (unless this isn’t already possible.)

  • vmirand  |  Oct 3 2006 at 3:42 am

    The power is just recognized!

  • hemendraW  |  Oct 3 2006 at 10:25 am

Way to go! How about a voice-enabled forum for us - your loyal fans, to talk without sharing our numbers? :-)

  • locas  |  Oct 3 2006 at 11:50 pm

Why did you remove the search??? Are you crazy? I just removed delicious from my bookmarks. Thanx a lot!

  • Tom Morgan  |  Oct 5 2006 at 6:19 am

I haven’t really got into de.lici.ous yet but i plan to! Its great to see the numbers inflating but the community is still relatively small. As a designer I would reccommend an interface overhaul though, it seems simple enough for those of us who know what we’re doing, but quite daunting for others - a new design could do wonders for you. The systems works superbly though, wll done guys.

  • meblogger  |  Oct 7 2006 at 1:50 am

thats an amazing figure on million users.

    keep up the good work.

    all the best

  • milo  |  Oct 18 2006 at 9:54 am

Congrats, well done, but your spam tech doesn’t wotk right, as in the above section “some” spam sites are listed.

  • Boston's Hidden Restaurants  |  Oct 18 2006 at 3:04 pm

Congrats! You were also mentioned in one of the PC magazines as one of the best/hottest sites in the country!

  • kzpres  |  Oct 18 2006 at 7:22 pm

    Congratulations!

However, I stopped using your service since your Firefox extension does support Firefox 2.

It seems that your developer has submitted a new version to you at least two weeks ago, but I don’t see that posted either on your website or that of Mozilla’s.

  • NatC  |  Oct 20 2006 at 9:00 am

1,000,000 - what’s that? now is the time to get seriously viral. ;-)

Why not allow me to include some friend email addresses in the tags that I apply to a page, in order to get an email sent to these addresses with the link to the web page, along with my comments? The email addresses would not remain in the tag set for the page, they would be removed as soon as the emails get out.

  • spyrral  |  Oct 20 2006 at 1:26 pm

    That’s awesome guys, congratulations!

Now are you going to fix filetype/tag intersections or have you just given up on that?

  • britta  |  Oct 20 2006 at 4:10 pm

kzpres: An updated extension is coming soon, and in the meantime, you can use these alternative buttons (they work with 2.0): http://del.icio.us/help/buttons . NatC: On the list of things we’re thinking about! spyrral: We’re still working on fixing that.

  • Brian  |  Oct 28 2006 at 1:24 am

I enjoy coming here, still trying to figure out this whole concept but very interesting.

  • Internet Technology Explorer Blog  |  Nov 7 2006 at 5:38 am

i have a tech blog .can somebody tell me the benefits of using delicious in my blog

  • Joey  |  Nov 9 2006 at 10:03 pm

del.icio.us ROCKS. Can I tag that?

Seriously too, I’ve come to love del.icio.us for it’s convenience, where ever I go, and whoever I meet. If I need a quick link, del.icio.us is there for me!

I’m just wondering though, how well is this way of organizing your net life working as a social-networking possibility? Are people getting together in Real Life, or heck, even Second Life by meeting their potential friends/mates/colleagues bookmarked tag entries?

Oh well, in any case; Keep up this goodness. Finally, because of del.icio.us the net is making some sense!

Would be nice to have good export features like putting links in folders for IE/FireFox etc.

  • DUI Blog  |  Dec 6 2006 at 4:07 pm

I wonder how close I was to the 1,000,000th registered user. Keep it up I love this site.

  • See Kim  |  Dec 7 2006 at 1:52 am

Seems I am above the 1 million number person…

I just signed up and can now somebody tell me what is the benefit for me? It is said it helps to bring visitors to your website, yet I am quite clueless here. Please send me an email, as can be found at the website below,

    Thanks,

    SK

It’s an hyperbole pattern. You may now expect 2 millions in 6 months.

  • Sarudath  |  Dec 16 2006 at 9:09 am

Yay! Way to go to guys.

Your site has been my starting page for the last few months now…keep it up!
